Norma
Patricia Flores Garcia was born in Eagle Pass, Texas and raised
in San Jose, California. A graduate from San Jose State
University and National Hispanic University. Co-Founder and
Co-Chairman of the Santa Clara County Hispanic Genealogical
Society. Regional Vice President for the California Historical
Societies. In my frequent visits to my Great Grandmother Maria
Menchaca, she shared her most cherished memories of the Rio
Grande. Having to cross borders between Eagle Pass, Texas
and Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico gave her the experience
of living in two different countries. This was to have the
greatest impact in her life and that of her future generations.
I was then inspired to be a devout genealogist and have the
desire to know the histories of my ancestors.
